Stapled booklet printing
Stapled booklets — known in the trade as saddle-stitched booklets — are made by folding printed sheets in half, nesting them and stapling through the fold. It's the most economical way to bind a brochure, programme, catalogue or magazine.

What are stapled booklets used for?
They suit documents read cover to cover.
- Company and product brochures
- Event, theatre and sports programmes
- Product catalogues and price guides
- Newsletters, magazines and annual reviews
- Church, school and club handbooks
Why must the page count be a multiple of four?
Each sheet folded in half creates four pages, so a stapled booklet always has 8, 12, 16, 20 pages and so on. If your content falls short, we use the spare pages for contact details, testimonials or a notes page rather than leaving them blank.
Self cover or separate cover?
A self-cover booklet uses the same paper throughout. A separate, heavier cover feels more premium and protects the inner pages — popular for brochures and catalogues that will be handled often.

Turnaround starts once artwork is signed off: business cards from 1 working day, brochures from 3 working days. Larger runs and special finishes may take longer, and we'll confirm timings with your quote.
Your questions, answered.
What's the maximum page count for a stapled booklet?
Stapling suits slimmer documents. As page counts rise, the booklet stops closing neatly and perfect binding becomes the better choice — we'll advise based on your page count and paper.
What sizes can stapled booklets be?
A5 and A4 are the most common, with A6 and square formats also popular.
Can you print a programme for our event?
Yes. Give us your event date and content and we'll design and print the programme around your deadline.
Too thick to staple?
When a document grows beyond what staples can hold neatly, perfect binding gives you a square, printed spine like a paperback.
